The Month of August

During the month of August, the Knights of Columbus of St. Patrick Catholic Church are hosting a Project Hope Donation Drive to support Rocky's Emergency Pantry of Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs. Donations will be accepted through August 31 and may be placed on the designated collection table in the Narthex.

Rocky's Emergency Pantry provides services to college students that may be struggling with basic needs. It is available for students who need food, personal hygiene, and toiletry items. The following items are especially needed.

Personal Hygiene Items:

• Shampoo and Conditioner (for ethnic hair care – Cantu, L’Oreal Elvive Hydrating)
  
• Deodorant
  
• Liquid Body Wash
  
• Hand and Body Lotion
  
• Pads/Tampons
  
• Shaving Cream
  
• Disposable Razors
  
• Laundry Pods and Dryer Sheets
  
• Toilet Paper
  
• Paper Towels
  
• Dish Soap
  
• Trash Bags

Bulk sizes of laundry pods and dryer sheets, trash bags, toilet paper, paper towels and pads/tampons work well, we distribute in small quantities to students as needed. 

Non-Perishable Food Needs:

Students only have access to microwaves - pull-top cans are best.

• Ramen (packages and cups) *
  
• Cups of Mac-N-Cheese *
  
• Cups of Ravioli and Lasagna (Example: Chef Boyardee) *
  
• Cups of Oatmeal
  
• Mixed Fruit (Cups or Cans) *
  
• Canned Chicken (more than tuna)
  
• Cereal *
  
• Granola Bars

* The pantry goes through a significant amount of these items monthly.
